Specialised AML/CFT and financial intelligence training

Specialised training for preventing, detecting and investigating financial crime. We train those who prevent, detect, supervise, investigate and adjudicate, with programmes adapted to each institution's functions and risks.

The challenge

What is not known is neither prevented nor detected

Threats change faster than capabilities

Threats evolve, are dynamic, change their methods and exploit vulnerabilities. When those who prevent and detect are unaware of those dynamics and of the context in which they operate, their capacity to spot red flags, unusual transactions and suspicious transactions falls, and effective reporting falls with it.

The same gap affects authorities. If investigators and prosecutors do not recognise the economic structures behind threats, the chances of opening parallel financial investigations, tracing assets and detecting possible ML/TF cases go down. The result is a less effective system.

How we work

Specialised training to strengthen prevention, detection, investigation and adjudication

01
Financial investigation

Financial-focused investigation and asset forfeiture

We strengthen capabilities to bring financial analysis into investigations, identify money flows, links between actors and assets, and develop parallel financial investigations tied to ML/TF and its predicate offences.

02
Typologies and detection

ML/TF/PF typologies and red flags

We analyse how threats evolve, their methods and financial mechanisms, and translate that into red flags that strengthen prevention, the identification of unusual and suspicious transactions, and detection, investigation and adjudication.

03
Suspicious transaction reports

STR Hackathon

Intensive, hands-on training to strengthen the identification, analysis and documentation of suspicious transactions. Working from simulated cases, participants build STRs and receive feedback on their quality, relevance and usefulness for financial intelligence.

04
STR quality

Role play

Through a role play, participants walk the full information chain: first as compliance officers, drafting an STR from a simulated case; then as FIU analysts, assessing whether the reported information supports a financial intelligence report.

05
Financial crime

The new launderer profile

We analyse how money laundering has evolved: new actors, facilitators, structures and mechanisms used to hide, transform and move illicit funds, and what that means for prevention, detection and investigation.

06
Data analytics

Data analytics and complex network analysis

We build capabilities to apply data analytics and complex network analysis to financial detection and investigation, connecting information from different sources to identify patterns, relationships, structures and actors that traditional analysis does not reveal.

07
Environment and context

Macro-sectoral environment and context analysis

We build capabilities to bring economic, social, criminal, geographic, sectoral and cross-border variables into risk analysis, understand the dynamics of the environment and turn that into red flags and detection criteria.

08
Risk management

Building risk matrices

We build capabilities to identify, assess and prioritise threats and vulnerabilities, construct risk matrices and turn their results into concrete prevention, mitigation and control measures.

09
Senior management

Boards and steering committees

Executive programmes to strengthen senior management's understanding of its responsibilities regarding ML/TF/PF, corruption and integrity risks, and its role in the governance, oversight and decision-making of the compliance system.

10
Public ethics and integrity

Foundations of public ethics, institutional integrity and corruption prevention

We strengthen capabilities to recognise integrity and corruption risks, understand the principles of public ethics and promote an institutional culture geared to prevention, transparency and accountability in decision-making.

Who we serve

Training for every actor in the AML/CFT system

We adapt every programme to the functions, responsibilities and needs of those who prevent, detect, investigate and adjudicate.

Every programme adapts to the participants' profile, functions and risk exposure. We work with cases, typologies, data and practical exercises to turn knowledge into the capacity to act.
